Since 2024, we've been working across India on health, water, learning and more — with people who'd rather have an amenity that works than a speech about it.

VetroLife began in 2024 as a handful of volunteers with more willingness than a plan. We've since grown into a development organisation working with communities across India. We're still young enough to say so, and old enough to know that this work takes decades.
We don't turn up with answers. We turn up with questions, then listen, then build with local people the kind of programmes they'll still be running after we've left. We work across eight areas at once, because a clinic with no clean water nearby only solves half the problem.
We start with what people say they need, and we change course if they tell us we got it wrong.
We measure what we do, and we tell you when it didn't work.
We work with communities across India on health, education, livelihoods and the environment — side by side — so families can lift themselves out of poverty on their own terms and with their dignity intact. We'd rather do fewer things properly than many things loudly.
A fairer India, where everyone has the resources, skills and chances to live a healthy, self-reliant life they'd recognise as their own. We're young, and we know that's a long way off. We're starting anyway.
They overlap on purpose. A child who has eaten learns better. A family with an income stays healthier. Fix one thing and you quickly find out it was holding up three others.
Primary care and medicine camps, taken to villages where the nearest clinic is a long walk away.
02Making sure children and mothers get enough to eat, and the right things to eat.
03Safe water, working toilets and hygiene habits that stick.
04Self-help groups, rights and leadership, led by the women who know what their communities need.
05Learning centres and digital access, so school stays somewhere children can keep going.
06Skills, and the market links to turn them into steady income. A certificate alone doesn't pay the rent.
07Trees, clean energy and climate-smart farming, chosen with the people who live with the results.
08Relief when disaster hits, and preparation so the next one hurts less.
From northern hills to southern coasts, we work with communities in several states. We started in 2024, so these numbers are small next to the need. We'd rather show you the real figures than round them up.
An hour a week or a skill we don't have yet — both help. We're still a young team and still learning, so we need people who'll roll up their sleeves and tell us what we're getting wrong.
